SJ DOLLAR DAY - #SJ$1DAY

In support of a great idea from an influential San Jose emcee Dem One, this post is to inform you and hope you participate in SJ$1Day!!!

SJ$1Day is an initiative sponsored by www.lifeafterhiphop.com. The idea is to get as many people as possible to spend at least $1 on San Jose based music today March 31st 2012.

In support of this movement I am asking everybody to do a couple things:

Spend at least $1 on local music

Post about what purchases you make and provide suggestions for local artists that others can support

"A Long Time Reflecting Evolving Besieging Every Challenge" is the meaning of the name Al Trebec and Jeopardy is the theme of this particular free download. One day I [Dave Slappelle] was on the way to sampling the "Think Music" from the TV game show Jeopardy and somehow came across ten (10) different rhythms for the particular sample. So, what we chose to do was run with the Jeopardy music and make a whole theme out of it. Production is solely by Dave Slappelle for Inf8nitbeatslump Recordings.

Essentially, this tape touches on some issues that have been heavy on my brain for some time now. From certain subliminal messages and doings touching mankind and how we are becoming less and less aware of them. Hence the theme of Jeopardy, our world is for surely in jeopardy. It is slightwieght in the form of how the actual show would go, if it were to present in hip hop form.

I encourage you to download and pass it on to friends as you all have been doing with my last release. It started circulating behind the scenes as a thank you for those who have liked the Myc Ripley facebook fan page. Some people might have this already, but I honestly think that it will be a good 30 mins of your listening pleasures. Only, it vibes pretty well if I have to say so myself. Also, if you know Myc Ripley, you know that he doesn't just rhyme out of nowhere. He keeps to what he knows and has seen. With that being said, this is another real and true to ripL album.
