Well, my last post was last month. I figured I would've been back since then, but I had nothing to speak on. Anyway, I thought I'd post just so y'all know all is well. I've been back for 2 months now. Sharkstyliens are getting ready for the summer. I think I should as well. With that said, ya boy is good. No need to worry. When Being an Aspiring Talent Becomes Too Much...

Let me start by saying, "I'm not crazy!!!!" Now that it out in the open, I can state that was denial playing a huge role in my life. For those of you that know me personally, would probably beg to differ; but it is true. Your boy is not all there upstairs. Since my last post I have experienced a Liminey Snikkette's type twist of unfortunate events.

On my ten day hiatus to the psych ward or loonie-bin lock-down, for lack of better words, I learned how to accept and forgive. You ask, "what caused this hiatus?" I answer, "one failed suicide attempt om Jan. 18th caused this hiatus..." You ask, "Why would Myc Ripley (B.Stuart) want to kill himself?" I answer, "thats a good question."

I really couldn't grasp the whole concept myself, until I was put in intensive psychiatric evaluations to understand the severity of what I'm dealing with. What I'm dealing with is Manic-Depressive Bipolarity, more on the depressed spectrum of things. I wish I was a manic, I would need more calming down than lifting up. Factors in my life that I thought weren't there really were. It's kinda funny because I have many songs about this issue and never really sought help.

**Sidenote: one of those songs I wrote back in June/July 2009. Here take a look at this post, telling 7AR I wanted to use one of his beats. Which turned into this song. "Dead in Your Arms"

Anyway, it was the way I was perceiving and had been perceiving a great deal of things. I was not under the influence of mind altering drugs.) There was a chemical imbalance in my serotonin levels.

Regardless of what I need, besides pills and a shrink according to all the PHD's I've been around the last ten days. I feel the best way to accept this is to bloggy blogg blogg about it. It isn't the best subject, but it is my subject for the moment. So...

This is what happens when you body is not healthy, you spirit and mind start to fade as well. As Matty Slims would call it.. "CHI." Well, indeed my chi was deathly fading. For the last 3 years, I had been working 40hrs a week, attending school 30 hrs a week online eastern standard time (last 2 yrs), tryin my fuckin hardest to be a full-part-time-gimme-extra-time father, and Myc Ripley. All while not sleeping or eating as much as I should be. I had a very bad case of "DRIVIN TIL THE WHEELS FELL OFF" both in outside life and internally. (Every car I've owned has took a crap and then been replaced.. I don't do the fix it if it broke.. If it broke go get a new one.. You know??)

The ball containing all these factors got a little too big to carry and I drop the ball. With all this goin on I was bound to hit the end of my road. That's the long story short. Oh! For those that are going to or want to criticize, THIS WASN'T FOR ATTENTION!! I get enough attention, I'm a good person to everyone.

New Venture - Into The Arena Of DUBSTEP

Hello Again, Dave Slapp back at you with the latest Myc Ripley happenings. Oh, I remember. DUBSTEP!!! You need it in your life! Dammit!! Since April???

Whats up urrybody? Happy New Year! The last time I had time to get down was in April.. Good Lawd! Sorry to keep the information withheld. Real life called and I had to answer.

Well... Since then, other than trying to be the best father possible. Your boy Myc Ripley has been recording and finishing some more solo projects. Also, Shastyliens has recorded songs for their EP dropping real soon.

There has been so much going on, I don't even know where to start. April, May, June... Oh shit! Summer was off the hook! We moved into Mission Ale House (currently Freddie J's) and established the fact that #dubstep is a force to be wreckin with. I'll be makin that transition also! Dubstep Massive WHA GWAN!!
I have a good amount of ideas coming at y'all!!!

Sharkstyliens had an awesome year of networking and shows. MUCH RESPECT TO THOSE WHO HAVE ALLOWED US TO WORK WITH YOU!!!! We did run into some stagnant times and setbacks, but who doesn't? It's all about how you bounce back that determines if you're a ball or square. Y'dig? We did a couple shows to end out the year (props to Heart of Chaos and Mr. Fritzo) for giving us that opp!! It was a great way to end 2009!

Even more is cracking this year!! We just threw and performed at our first show of the year with the help of Denver Nytez and Mountain Charleys Los Gatos. Its all gel'n folks. It's a blessing! So, get ready to be inundated with #sharkstyle!!!

Personally, I'll be working on finishing up some projects started in late 08 and all of 09. Then I'll be on this #dubstep tier somethin fierce. I have a song for all in my next post.

Who is Myc Ripley? Really..

Alrighty then... Last time we left you, we were speaking on Myc Rip and the moves he's been making the last couple of months. (Actually years, but we'll get into that.)

Myc Ripley is that one guy. You see him in the back of large crowds doing his own thing, but you still can't help notice how magnetizing he is. There is definitely something about Myc Rip.

So... The until now, consists of a great deal of things. There is no more Inf8nitbeatslump and/or DLC Crew. THERE IS NO CALI'S FINEST. There are rumors, but it is what it is.



Now, there is just Myc Ripley and #lifeonchill.

Ok, back to the real. Since all the bullshit between who really wants to do this and who doesn't. I've been working non-stop on building a solid network. Yet in still, not to many real grinders are out there. It has been a blessing in the making though it's still being made. I roll with it. When I say "working" I have been doing exactly that... Working. I keep a 925 and maintaining two projects that are still taking off.

I also have kids, but who doesn't in this day and age. They are really my inspiration! My A-Team.



This is what keeps me pushin' this eye wide open dream I live.

My new project is called "Purify - Th'Album" and mixtape will be called "Amidst the Darkness." I'm doing some slapp collecting and conceptualizing for both these projects as we speak..

Myc Ripley - Part 1

Born November 10, 1979 and extremely Scorpio, Myc Ripley is true to his being. A native of Los Angeles, Myc Ripley (born B.Stuart) found himself in San Jose around the summer of 1993. Being with family, essentially escaping the grime and nonsense of the city of lost angels.

"Although , I have the heart of a lost angel, it feels good to be in an area where folks can't see you." - Myc Ripley

Myc Ripley began writing lyrics in '93 being influenced by Method Man's Tical project. Ultimately, it was his mothers constant playing of old reggae dancehall dub cassettes.

"BIGG UP MOMS!!!! 'cause she still hasn't stopped blastin' the dancehall." So then, as you can tell the family background is that of Jamaica. All reggae artists has provided some type of inspiration and/or portrayed an influence for Myc and all the music that is created by Myc Ripley.

In 1999, Myc Ripley wrote and recorded under the name of "Cozmick Da Ayth Wonder" for Calico Park Entertainment (CPE) in a duo group named "Flewid" where teamed with good friend "Sonick Da Ill Trooper" made a maxi single of never released tracks. Upon CPE vacating Palo Alto, CA looking for label sponsorship Flewid was left high and dry, eventually evaporating. Sonick moved to the dirty south and Cozmick tried to venture into his own production scheme.

By 2001, Cozmick Da Ayth Wonder hath become Mr. Mychogg (mike-hog) Ripley and started recording for himself in his own little shack based in Eastside San Jose where he formed The DLC - Dysfunctional Locol Crew, wanting to be a west coast Wu-Tang, DLC consisted of 4-5 members and couldn't gather collectively. So, Rip started recording himself and recorded over 150 unreleased and floating tracks to date. In that process, DLC phased out and Inf8nitbeatslump (Infinite Beat Slump) was formed. Rip's tracks have featured artists within the camp consisting of Smash Atoms, Krooked Keyz, BL, and ebreeze 3g for the sweet vocals.

Couple of years passed, Rip started dabbling in the production realm. Where he started recording more in depth and creating a mix of different music.

By 2003, Krook recruited Ace (Rauce Boss) Raustine (now Raustine D. Rauce), forming Cali's Finest between the two of them. Krook and Rauce had been rhymin together for sometime. After formally meeting, Rip offered to record Cali's Finest as their sound engineer, since he had been working on his own projects. In turn was invited to be a part of Cali's Finest making the duo a trio in the blink of an eye. They recorded "Knee Deep" The Mixtape under Muddy Water Entertainment in 2007...

From then until, Myc Ripley has dropped some mixtapes. A trio entitled, "The Dave Slappelle Show"- Seasons 1, 2, also Bootlegs and Bleezies. Then there is his latest 2008 mixtape, "The Adventures of Jack Rabbid". These projects are available at different sites for purchase and free download.

Presently, Myc Rip is working on yet another solo effort and mixtape that seems to be a lifetime in the making.
